Joburg on Foot: Park Station to Gandhi Square

​Last year, Young Urbanists with Jozi my Jozi used Design Week to walk Lilian Ngoyi Street and look at how JohaJoubert on Foot is a guided walk through Johannesburg’s inner city, led by Hannelie Coetzee with JICP and supported by Young Urbanists.

​Starting at Park Station, the walk will follow Joubert Street and visit work underway and planned along the route, including the intersection with Lilian Ngoyi Street and the proposed Pocket Plaza.

​Young Urbanists will also share a future vision for making Joubert Street a more comfortable walking route between Park Station and Gandhi Square, using street experiments at key intersections, safer crossings, planting, public space and SUDS.

​Meet at Father Coffee, Rosebank from 08:30 or meet at Park Station Gautrain before 10. The group leaves at 09:10 for the Gautrain. The walk starts at Park Station at 10:00 and finishes around 11:30.

​Security will accompany the group throughout the inner-city walk.
