AI and Regulation: Perspectives from Around the World
Artificial intelligence is global by design, while the rules governing it are increasingly shaped by different legal, political and strategic traditions. As governments and institutions develop frameworks for AI, questions of safety, accountability, innovation and competitiveness are being answered in different ways across jurisdictions.
At this special CroAI Legal Club, co-organised with the European Commission Representation in Croatia, we will bring together European institutional and diplomatic perspectives from France, the United Kingdom and China to examine how AI regulation is evolving across regions and what these differences may mean in practice.
The discussion will consider where regulatory approaches converge, where they diverge, and how policy choices affect innovation, trust, competitiveness and the cross-border development and deployment of AI. The aim is not to identify a single model, but to better understand the principles, priorities and trade-offs shaping AI governance around the world.
