Watts of Innovation: Toronto Tech Week Ride

​Most Tech Week events start with coffee. This one starts at 25 km/h.

​Watts of Innovation is a 20–25km road ride for experienced cyclists in tech. This is not a casual ride. Expect a steady pace, tight group riding, and a focused route.

​We start early so you can ride hard and still make it back for Tech Week events.

​The route heads west along the waterfront, into High Park for ~1 hour of laps and optional climbs, then finishes with coffee.

​This is intentionally a niche ride for people who take both building and riding seriously.

​Schedule

• ​6:30 AM — Depart Princes Gates (primary start)

• ​~6:45 AM — Pickup at Colborne Lodge & Lakeshore

• ​6:45–7:45 AM — High Park laps + optional climbs

• ​~8:15–8:30 AM — Coffee at Cherry Bomb

• ​Distance: ~20–25 km

• ​Pace: 25–27 km/h average

• ​Format: Group ride + High Park laps

• ​Martin Goodman Trail (westbound)

• ​High Park loops (optional Ellis climb)

• ​Exit via High Park Blvd → Roncesvalles

• ​Finish at Cherry Bomb

​Safety

• ​Helmets required

• ​Call out hazards (holes, bumps, debris)

• ​Obey all traffic signals and stop signs

• ​Hold your line and ride predictably

​Requirements

• ​Road bike required

• ​No city bikes or rentals

• ​Comfortable riding in a group at pace
