Workshop 1 - Create and Critique
Led by artist Laura Loving (www.StudioLauraLoving.com), this workshop brings together young creatives for a focused, art-filled two-hour adventure.
Young artists will explore the story and symbolism of the Statue of Liberty through artist Laura Loving’s colorful painting, Lady Liberty. Students will learn how artists use line, color, shape, and composition to communicate ideas and emotions.
Together, we'll look closely at artwork, practice sharing observations and opinions in a positive and respectful way, and discover how art can tell stories and express personal meaning. Inspired by the techniques used in Lady Liberty, each student will create their own unique cityscape drawing filled with color, energy, and imagination.
The class concludes with a supportive group critique where students will celebrate each other's creativity, practice thoughtful communication, and build confidence in discussing art.
No prior art experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to have fun!
