Catching Up 2026 Q1 AI Trends 📈 @Brisbane
AI is moving faster than ever.
In just the first few months of 2026, we’ve already seen a surge of new models, agent frameworks, and developer tools reshaping how we build, ship, and scale products. From OpenClaw to the latest frontier models and AI-native tooling, the pace of innovation is no longer incremental — it’s exponential.
But with great capability comes new complexity.
Are we truly understanding the tools we are adopting, or just racing to integrate them?
Are these systems making us more productive — or quietly introducing hidden risks in reliability, security, and decision-making?
This session is about catching up, not just in features, but in mindset.
We’ll explore the latest AI trends from OpenClaw to emerging models and tools, unpack what actually matters for builders, and learn how to harness these powerful technologies responsibly while staying aware of their limits.
Let’s stay informed, build smarter, and grow together in this rapidly evolving AI landscape. It happens on:
🛡️ Catching Up 2026 Q1 AI Trends
📅 23 Mar 2026 (Monday)
⏰ 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM
📍 Launch Event Space, The Precinct
👨🏻🏫 Agenda
🔧 Local — Setting Up OpenClaw in Isolated Linux Ubuntu — Artur Shapoval (PhD in Engineering, UNSW) will walk us through getting OpenClaw running locally, from VM installation to onboarding, real use cases, and open discussion. Bring your laptop, you’ll be installing alongside the presentation.
🤖 Orchestration — Mastra.ai in Practice: Orchestrating AI Agents Beyond the Hello World Demo — Ella Ferreira will demo building and running real Mastra.ai agents — live installs, shared GitHub repo, working output examples, and practical takeaways from using it in production.
📈 Scale — From Vibe Coding to Software Observability & Reliability — Dean Baron (Founder of Datastone, ex-Google Operations Engineer) tackles the reality of shipping AI apps to production. He’ll cover real-world outage stories, why SRE matters for builders, best practices for vibe coders who want reliable software, and tools for early issue detection.
Please note that: due to the venue capacity limitation, this event is capped at max 85 people registration, the event registration will be closed once the registration number exceeds or when the event starts.
👱🏻 Consent on Being Involved in Image or Recording
This session will be fully recorded with the online streaming recording platforms & photos/videos will be taken.
