Nutrition Research for a Healthier Nation: Introducing ICON-Health

​America is plagued with obesity and chronic disease directly related to poor quality diets that contribute to premature death, diminished quality of life, and costs the economy trillions of dollars in healthcare and related costs. Making food and nutrition the solution to the chronic disease epidemic requires integrated approaches and collaborations across all academic disciplines through research, education and outreach. At Florida State University, the Institute for Connecting Nutrition and Health is uniquely position to be a national and global in research, education, outreach and public engagement that focuses on food and nutrition as the solution to human health. This half day event highlights work being done at FSU and also on the federal level to advance evidence-based nutrition policy.
