October Co-Ed Clothing Swap in Venice! π§‘π
βPlease join us for a co-ed clothing swap at Flow Life Sanctuary in Venice! ππ½ππ
Men, women, and all genders welcome. Children are welcome too. π«Άπ½
Bring your clothes, shoes, and accessories (clean and in good condition please) that you aren't wearing anymore, and go home with new ones. π
βPlease read through this invitation to make sure you have all the info β¬οΈ
βPlease arrive between 1:30 - 2 pm.
βYou can park on Lincoln Blvd or in the parking lot behind Panda Express.
What to expect:
We all bring clothes we are no longer wearing and set them up like a "store" on clothing racks and tables.
βAfter that we do a brief check-in circle, after which everyone gets to "go shopping" and select some fabulous new pieces to add to their wardrobes.
There will be mirrors and changing rooms so you can try clothes on.
$28 admission paid to our nonprofit, Community Threads (pay at the door by cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Paypal)
βIf you are experiencing financial difficulties that makes admission a barrier for you, please contact me at rkwoerner@gmail.com to work something out.
Our grassroots initiative Community Threads is now part of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Earth Rights Institute). All monetary contributions are tax deductible.
This includes financial contributions from event sponsors.
EIN #30-0029920
If you'd like to pay in advance, you can Venmo @earth_rights_institute
βTIMING:
ββ’ Setup: from 1:30 - 2:30 pm (We will set up the clothes during this time on the clothing racks and tables ... no swapping yet!)
ββ’ Check-in circle: 2:30 pm
ββ’ After the circle we will "shop" for new clothes (everything is free of course) π
βWrap-up around 4:30pm
βWhat happens to leftovers?
βWe donate extra clothes to our local nonprofit partner Hand to Hand which hosts resource pop-ups for our neighbors in need. Hand to Hand provides hot meals, health resources and clothing directly to folks in need β who also get the same "shopping" experience, but all the clothes are free.
Clothing that is torn or stained will be donated to the Santa Monica College Fashion Department so the fabric can be upcycled into new clothing.
Looking forward to seeing you! π₯°
