This edition, we screen a 2021 Dutch drama directed by Valerie Bisscheroux, who first brought the character to life as the creator of the beloved series Anne. The film marks a landmark moment in Dutch cinema featuring Thorn Roos de Vries as the first non-binary actor with a major role in a Dutch feature film. Shot in Amsterdam, it carries the intimate, episodic warmth of the series into a more expansive emotional landscape and the unsettling process of becoming.
Themes of navigating open relationships, rejection and living a life that can be truly ours.
This edition is hosted by Marc, a former casting director of 20 years in Amsterdam, now based in Lisbon. Since making the move, Marc published his debut novel Herman and joined the writers' room of the Dutch TV series Woeste Grond. He knows storytelling from every angle and we are glad to have him guide this one.
