About Event

What does showing yourself grace really mean and how can you practice it? If you’re like me, you’ve sometimes dismissed the concept or not made time to truly be kind to yourself.

This session is for you if you self-criticize, find it hard to forgive yourself or struggle with “negative” emotions like anger or sadness.

What to expect from this session:

- overview of what grace is and why it’s hard

- examples of common (mom) self-criticisms, ways to change the narrative and why it’s important to try

- opportunity to optionally share your own examples, either with the group publicly or on paper privately

- judgment free, as always

About the presenter

Cindy is a mom of two high schoolers and was a “SAHM” for about 10 years, during which time she was heavily involved in volunteering in a moms club (toddler years), then with her kids’ schools via PTA, room parenting, and gardening. Cindy started dealing with her depression in 2018 and is passionate about mental health and community building. Her pre-mom self worked as a technical writer in Ottawa, Canada. Her first part-time job after having kids was with Blossom Birth and Family and she now very happily works for a Jewish Community Center as a Family Engagement Coordinator. Cindy is a (non-Jewish) Canadian who loved watching Olympic curling!
