About Event

TABOO PAGES is challenging the status quo in an age where AI and mass media are threatening our critical thinking. We invite people to think, challenge and question our systems and societal norms and assumptions via reading and safe discussions.

📚 Book discussions
Every month we discuss a book that brings up different themes, such as feminism, women's health and the medical system, philosophy, traditional novels, financial shame, death, sex & pleasure.

👭 Safe community
This is not a women-only book club. Everyone is welcomed and we actually urge EVERYONE to join and discuss these important topics (that will shape our future) together.

💡 Supporting mission-driven innovation
Taboo Pages offers a community and a space open to trying, sharing and supporting mission-driven solutions. We’re happy to share your products and services if you need beta testers or focus groups. We also promote businesses that align with our values.

The first session we'll be reading Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado-Perez.

It’s a 2019 book that exposes how a systemic "gender data gap" - where "male" is considered the default - negatively affects women's lives, health, and safety. It demonstrates through global research how, from medicine to technology, women are systematically ignored, impacting their daily, professional, and economic existence.

Here are a few options of where to buy the book if you don’t want to use Amazon:

Or you can buy from Waterstones or Foyles too!

You’re welcome whether you finished the book, skimmed it, or only read part of it.

Our first session is on:

🗓️ Sunday 8th March
🕓 2-4pm
📍 Cafe Mission, Liverpool Street

They serve healthy food, coffee, and drinks. Unfortunately, we cannot offer any of that as it's our first session, but choices are there if you fancy.

Mission is also an awesome movement studio, so feel free to boom a class before/after. They have a sauna and showers available.
