D.E.A.R (Family Reading Event)

​Divine Radiance presents D.E.A.R (DropEverythingAndREAD) a family reading event centering Black girls & their families.

​This space is designed to bring book lovers and future book lovers together to foster a deeper appreciation for reading and celebrating Black books.

​Readers of all ages are welcome.

​Youth and families can bring a book, borrow a book, or win a free book, or buy a book from Chapter 510’s Dept. Of Make / Believe or the Sistah Scifi vending machine located onsite. We will also have free books to give away courtesy of the Oakland Literacy Coalition 

​Activities will include reading together along with light music, refreshments, conversation, and opportunities to connect with the Oakland Public Library and community partner organization Sistah Scifi.
