Berkeley Civic Innovation Challenge (CIC) Grand Prize Pitch Event and Celebration

​The Berkeley Civic Innovation Challenge (CIC) pairs UC Berkeley students together to co-design solutions to pressing civic challenges, presented by City of Berkeley employees. In Feb. 6, the CIC Grand Prize Pitch Event and Celebration will mark the culmination of an intensive seven-day design sprint. At this final showcase, the top student teams from across the CIC will pitch their solutions to a distinguished panel of judges. Winning teams will be announced, and students will be recognized for their outstanding creativity, collaboration, and civic impact. Following the pitches and awards, guests are invited to stay for a lively networking celebration bringing together students, city and campus leaders, mentors, judges, sponsors, and community partners. 

​Welcome and opening remarks from UC Berkeley Chancellor Rich Lyons and City of Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii will take place at 3:15 PM followed by the student pitch showcase at 3:30.

​The event was organized by the UC Berkeley Big Ideas Contest and City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development, with sponsorship from the Berkeley Startup Cluster and University of California Office of the President.
