Loom Weaving Meetup | Surface Studio Makers Club
Like A Book Club, But For Crafts!
Surface Studio Makers Club is a community-led monthly club where we explore one craft together each month. We spend the month discovering the craft through inspiration, artists, tutorials, and shared resources, then come together to make, chat, and learn alongside one another.
This month, the community chose Loom Weaving
Whether you've never picked up a loom before or already enjoy weaving, you're welcome to join us for a relaxed evening of creativity and conversation.
This is a community meetup rather than a workshop. We'll learn and explore together, and everyone is encouraged to experiment at their own pace.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Meet other creative people in Montreal.
A brief introduction to this month's craft.
Time to weave, chat, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Work on a small beginner-friendly weaving project at your own pace.
Share what you made, discovered, or enjoyed at the end of the meetup.

WHAT TO BRING
A loom (DIY, one you already own, or request a 3D printed loom before the meetup)
Yarn
Scissors
A picnic blanket or something comfortable to sit on
Water
Snacks to enjoy or share if you'd like
Picnic blanket
NEED A LOOM?
If you don't have one, I can 3D print a portable loom for you before the meetup.
Small (4" x 6"): $5
Medium (6" x 6"): $7
Large (9" x 10"): $10
NEED YARN?
If you don't have yarn at home or would like to experiment with different colours, textures, and yarn weights (from thin to chunky), I can also put together assorted yarn bundles.
• Small bundle – $5
• Large bundle – $10
It's a great way to try a variety of yarns without having to buy full skeins.
Looms and yarn bundles can be picked up before the meerup, so you'll have some time to get familiar with your loom and practice before we meet. Just let me know a few days in advance if you'd like one.
