​The Chingay Night Parade honors the five deities of the main Chinese groups in the city. It is believed to bring good luck and prosperity for the new year. Devotees take the deities out into the streets with floats, lion and dragon dances, music, and lights.

​On our way to Johor Bahru, we’ll briefly stop at Serene Hill Palace—the Sultan of Johor’s official residence. Then, we’ll break into small groups to explore the old town, eat local delicacies, and watch the parade.
