Tech Week Prelaunch Event - Physical AI for Anyone | Bring Your Impossible Idea

That product you keep imagining — and quietly talking yourself out of — belongs in the room this Thursday.

You know the one. The idea that shows up in the shower. On the drive home. In that 1 a.m. Notes app draft you never send anyone because… hardware feels too hard, too expensive, too “not for people like me.”

What if that story is wrong?

This Thursday, bring your impossible idea anyway. The wild one. The tender one. The one that makes your friends say “that would be so cool” and then change the subject. We’re building a room where imagination doesn’t get shut down — it gets built.

What it's about

Physical AI for Anyone is 2 hours of creative voltage: founders, dreamers, and first-timers turning something you can only picture in your head into something the physical world can start to hold.

You’ll hear from hardware founders who once stood exactly where you are — scared, excited, unsure — and still shipped something real. Then you’ll open your laptop and chase your idea with Vlight AI: explore how it could look, feel, come apart, get made. Not a lecture. A leap.

There will be laughter. There will be “wait, that actually works?” moments. There will be a one-minute pitch where your idea gets to breathe in front of people who get it. And when you walk out, you won’t just have notes — you’ll have proof that you started.

If you’ve ever felt that little ache of “I wish I could make this,” this night is for that ache.

Who it's for

For the founder with no hardware background and a full heart. For the designer tired of living only on screens. For the student with an impossible sketch. For anyone who’s ever said “someone should invent this” — and secretly meant you.

You don’t need credentials. You need courage for one afternoon. If you can feel the idea, you’re already in.

What you get

  • Permission to take your impossible idea seriously — in public

  • A room buzzing with people who want to build, not just talk

  • Vlight AI credits + humans beside you when you get stuck

  • Honest stories from 1–2 hardware founders who made the leap

  • Sixty seconds on stage. A vote. A rush. A winner — and a story you’ll want to tell

  • Llight snacks, coffee/water/soft drinks, and warmth from Plug and Play  That rare high: I didn’t just dream it. I began it.

Guest Judge & Speaker

Jenny Jiang
Co-founder, HarvardXR Summit
AI Product Lead, CVS Health

Yatin Varachhia - CEO & Co-Founder of Nosh

Building Physical AI for everyday cooking, with more than 1,000 robots already deployed in homes.

Jenny and Yatin will join the pitch session to share feedback and perspectives across Physical AI, product innovation, XR, and emerging technology.

Agenda

  • 3:00pm -3:15pm Networking — find your people, borrow a little bravery

  • 3:15 pm - 3:30pm Kickoff — Hardware founders share how they made the leap

  • 3:30 pm - 4:15pm Create with Vlight AI — give your impossible idea a body

  • 4:15pm - 5:00pm 1-min pitch & vote the winner

  • 5:00pm - 6:00pm Founder networking — don’t let the spark cool down alone

What to bring

  • Laptop + charger

  • The idea you’ve been protecting (even if it’s messy)

  • An open heart and a little audacity

Registration

Limited seats. We want a hungry room, not a quiet audience. Request your spot on Luma — we’ll confirm by email. Credits provided. Come with the idea you almost gave up on. Leave a little more dangerous — in the best way.

BUILD HUMAN FUTURES

This event is part of Human Futures Lab’s BUILD HUMAN FUTURES hackathon series, exploring a new model for early-stage innovation by connecting creative talent with AI tools, technical resources, industry knowledge, manufacturing networks, mentors, and capital earlier in the journey from idea to reality.

Across the series, participants build and pitch new product concepts while meeting people across entrepreneurship, investment, technology, design, culture, and manufacturing.

Promising projects may continue through:

  • Mentorship

  • Prototyping exploration

  • Manufacturing connections

  • Human Futures Showcase opportunities

  • Future Human Futures Lab programs and cohort opportunities

Build something real — and discover which ideas are worth continuing.

BUILD HUMAN FUTURES × SF TECH WEEK

October 1 is the prelaunch of a four-event BUILD HUMAN FUTURES series leading into and through SF Tech Week.

Join one session or continue building with us throughout the series.

OCT 1 — PRELAUNCH
PHYSICAL AI FOR ANYONE: BRING YOUR IMPOSSIBLE IDEA
