About Event

Projector Community (by Projector Institute) presents an expert talk on building trustworthy, AI-ready research data infrastructure using Semantic Croissant and CDIF.

Featuring:

Slava Tykhonov — Head of AI and Interoperability at CODATA, International Science Council, and co-author of the Google-initiated CroissantML standard for AI.

As AI systems become more dependent on high-quality, well-structured, and interoperable data, the question is no longer only how to build AI models — but how to build the data infrastructure they can truly trust.

This talk will explore Semantic Croissant, an AI-ready research data infrastructure designed to connect distributed data sources such as research archives, statistical repositories, government databases, and international collections.

Instead of centralizing data, Semantic Croissant creates a federated knowledge network where data remains with its original providers while becoming easier to discover, interpret, exchange, and use across domains.

At the center of this approach is the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF), which provides the semantic layer needed for consistent alignment, standardized data exchange, and interoperability between different data ecosystems.

Participants will get a clearer view of what stands behind trustworthy AI — from interoperable research data to the semantic frameworks that help different knowledge systems work together.

This event is organized by Projector Global Community ambassadors:
