n8n for Engineers: Orchestrating Services, Data, and AI Agents

​"n8n for Engineers" is a technical immersion designed for Computer Science students, Computer Engineering professionals, and tech enthusiasts looking to accelerate the development of systems, integrations, and AI solutions without sacrificing control, code, or architecture. Held at the Insper campus from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, this session is co-hosted by Insper AI, a student organization at Insper focused on Artificial Intelligence, and presents n8n as a modern orchestration layer for services, data, and intelligent agents.

​We aim to move beyond the "visual tool" stigma, positioning it as a programmable, versionable workflow engine compatible with software engineering best practices. Participants will explore backend architecture concepts, API automation, corporate database integration, and the use of JavaScript and Python within visual flows. We will also dive into the practical construction of AI Agents capable of executing real-world actions via natural language. The goal is to demonstrate how reducing repetitive code (boilerplate) frees engineers to focus on business logic, algorithms, and scalable system design.

​The event will be led by Luiz Eduardo, n8n Ambassador, bridging the gap between academia and the market landscape. He will explore integrations with enterprise infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud services. The content covers everything from orchestration fundamentals and workflow versioning to DevOps practices with Docker containers and intelligent data pipelines.

​More than just learning a tool, participants will develop a new mindset: moving from "writing integrations" to "architecting intelligence," uniting programmable automation, microservices, and agentic AI into practical solutions. This event is designed for those who want to boost productivity without losing technical depth, with immediate applications for academic projects, hackathons, MVPs, and corporate environments.
