About Event

Join us for a product-focused workshop on designing trusted answer experiences with You.com’s upcoming Answers API.

This session is for teams thinking about how to turn a user question into a fast, useful, source-backed answer experience. We’ll focus on the practical product patterns behind trusted answers: what the answer should look like, how sources should appear, when to show uncertainty, how to handle freshness, and when to offer a deeper research path.

The goal is not just to introduce an API. The goal is to clarify how the Answers API should be positioned, how it fits alongside You.com’s Search, Contents, and Research APIs, and how teams can evaluate whether an answer experience is actually good enough for users.

By the end, attendees will have a clear product pattern for building a fast, source-backed answer experience using You.com’s upcoming Answers API.

What we’ll cover

  • Clarify the API’s role: Position Answers API relative to You.com’s existing Search, Contents, and Research APIs.

  • Build the answer experience: Turn a user question into a concise answer with sources, follow-up questions, and a “go deeper” path.

  • Design for trust: Cover citations, source display, freshness, uncertainty language, and escalation to deeper research.

  • Compare answer modes: Understand the practical difference between raw search results, quick synthesized answers, and deeper research workflows.

  • Evaluate quality: Create a lightweight scorecard for correctness, citation support, latency, freshness, formatting, and failure handling.

  • Capture launch feedback: Gather input on response format, documentation, SDK needs, pricing questions, demo queries, and product positioning.

We’ll prototype around

A user asks:

“What changed in the latest version of [product/tool/framework], and what should developers do differently?”

From there, we’ll map the ideal answer experience:

  • Concise answer

  • Supporting sources

  • What changed

  • Why it matters

  • Suggested next actions

  • Follow-up questions

  • Optional “go deeper” path

  • Freshness or uncertainty note when appropriate

You’ll leave with

  • A trusted answer experience pattern

  • An answer-quality scorecard

  • A demo flow for an answer experience

  • A feedback worksheet for You.com’s product and developer experience teams

  • A clearer mental model for when to use Answers API versus Search or Research

Best for

Product teams, developer advocates, solutions engineers, partners, customer-facing technical teams, and builders working on search, support, research, copilots, internal tools, or embedded answer experiences.
