Hike: 🌱 Lizar Waterways
Hi, hiking lover! Ready to explore one of Axarquía’s hidden gems? 😍
Join us for Lizar Waterways — a linear hike from a charming village of Frigiliana, following ancient acequias and the river Lizar.
💧 The acequias you’ll walk beside were built during the Al-Andalus period to guide mountain water to villages and fields — and many of them are still flowing today. You’ll be walking through living history.
ℹ️ Important note: We won’t be walking in the water, only alongside it.
⚠️ Please read carefully before signing up: This hike is suitable for beginners, but not recommended for people with vertigo, as some sections are exposed.

Tips for a great hike
🥾 Shoes: Hiking shoes with good grip
💧 Hydration & snacks: At least 2L of water, plus snacks or a light lunch to keep your energy up.
🧢 Sun protection: Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses – especially for the sunny stretches.
