

Lunch and Learn MCP 101 - Fundamentals of MCP
MCP 101 is a beginner-friendly introduction to the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that lets AI assistants connect to tools, data, and apps.
In this session we'll cover what MCP is and why it matters, how clients, servers, and tools fit together, a live demo of connecting an AI assistant to real tools, and how to get started building or using your first MCP server.
Who should come: builders, founders, students, and anyone curious about AI agents. No prior MCP experience needed.
Basic comfort with a terminal (running commands, navigating folders) and a code editor (VS Code or similar)
Ability to read simple code in PythonFamiliarity with JSON and the idea of an APINo prior MCP or LLM-app experience required
Optional: An MCP client for hands-on exercises.
