About Event

Seattle has no shortage of events. This time, let’s do one on the Eastside.

There has been so much AI noise lately. I want us to be human beings again: to play, connect, and create. We will take creativity seriously and have fun doing it.

This is for people who genuinely want to create. Your calendar can be full of concerts and hikes, and you can still feel the urge to make something of your own. Maybe you’ve been a good student your whole life, but when there’s no assignment and no right answer, you feel paralyzed. Maybe you’re drawn to creativity and don’t know where to start. You want to get out of work-slave mode, be yourself, and build something better and greater. Bring your innocent heart.

In this “workshop,” we will create a safe space together to ground, connect, forget, and create. You will be asked to take off your social masks, face your fear, get comfortable with the uncomfortable moment, and tap into your creative potential.

I designed this gathering with introverts in mind. We’ll begin with a grounding ritual and exercises that help us get familiar with the room and each other. Then we’ll go further together. Everyone participates.

AI can give us derivatives. True inspiration comes from connecting with life and our senses. That’s how we discover what we call taste—and begin to create something that belongs to us.

This is the first gathering in a series. Future workshops will explore meaningful direction, conversations with strangers, new ventures, and enjoying life as it happens.

I’m Carl Liu, a Beijinger in Seattle, a product leader, and a former Pokémon GO product lead. I studied at Cornell and Stanford and founded Seattle Club Awakenings. This series draws on Stanford d.school’s creativity framework and my own life experience.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of background, status, religion, gender, or age. We’ll treat each other with openness and respect. Bullying and judgment have no place here.

Bring your true self and be ready to adventure.
