Seeds of Change: Urban Food Systems in Singapore

Curious about urban food systems in Singapore? Or already involved in food or community initiatives and want to better understand what shapes how we grow, share, and value food? Join us for an interactive workshop using the Iceberg Model—a systems thinking approach that helps surface the deeper patterns, structures, and mindsets influencing our food system.

Grounded in the theme Farm Our Heart, this session explores how farming can cultivate connection and kampung spirit, offering shared insights into how care, community, and stewardship show up in our urban food landscape.

Date: 18 Apr Saturday

Time: 9.30am - 12.30pm

Location: Kampung Kampus, 11 Checharu Close, S769287 (see directions here)

In just three hours, you'll:
✔️ Build a shared, bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s urban food system—from farming and supply chains to consumption and community

✔️ Explore the deeper patterns, structures, and mindsets shaping how food is grown, shared, and valued, using the Iceberg Model

✔️ Walk away with practical insights to better situate efforts within the wider food system, guided by the theme Farm Our Heart.

Who should attend:

  • Individuals interested in food, farming, and community in Singapore

  • Ground-up organisers, growers, and volunteers nurturing kampung spirit through food

  • Educators, practitioners, or policymakers curious about systems thinking and urban food challenges

  • Anyone who wants to better understand how food, care, and community are connected in a complex urban system
