WebAssembly is Cool! (finally!)

WebAssembly is turning 10 this year, and it's come a long way since the days of speculative hype. The technology now runs virtually everywhere, from browsers to embedded systems, and it's matured into a robust and versatile runtime. With the initial wave of excitement behind us, we're seeing developers build truly novel solutions that leverage WebAssembly as a foundation for shared libraries and interoperable code.

In this talk, we'll highlight three groundbreaking projects that demonstrate the potential of WebAssembly as a common runtime; showcasing how the ecosystem has evolved to enable practical, impactful use cases across various domains.

Speaker Bio

Jakob Heuser is a Silicon Valley engineering veteran with over two decades of experience building platform infrastructure and leading engineering. Previously though Pinterest and LinkedIn, he blended the pragmatic needs of the company with his natural curiosity for new technologies while managing frontend and platform engineering teams. His recent work involves production WebAssembly implementations, including architecting systems that process telemetry for hundreds of thousands of APIs.
