This is more than a showcase. It is a strategic moment where Silicon Valley ambition meets Taiwan’s engineering excellence — and where the next chapter of U.S.–Taiwan innovation begins.
Opening speech by Elmy Bermejo, Director of the California Office of the Small Business Advocate, and GJ Lee, Director General of the Taiwan Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration
Following their engagements in Washington, DC, this Taiwan delegation will gather in Silicon Valley to connect with American innovators, investors, and corporate leaders. Backed by Taiwan’s world-class engineering and advanced manufacturing strength, 20 top startup teams will showcase breakthrough technologies spanning semiconductors, robotics, biotech, smart infrastructure, digital health, and other next-generation solutions.
As part of the event, you’ll hear from Bryan Day, exhibit developer at the Exploratorium, as he brings his one of a kind sound sculptures to life, transforming everyday objects into instruments in a rare, up-close live performance that blurs the line between art, music, and invention.
If you are able to arrive earlier, this exclusive guided tour at 4:30pm invites you to step into the true birthplace of Silicon Valley, now with the unique opportunity to be part of the entourage alongside officials from the Taiwan delegation. Starting on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric Mountain View, you’ll explore the historic grounds of the former Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory where the modern tech industry first took shape. Taiwan produces the majority of advanced AI chips powering today’s world, making this birthplace of semiconductors a strikingly relevant setting, a full-circle moment from origin to global scale.
Hear firsthand stories from former employees, Andris Ramans and Jacques Beaudouin, along with insights from sculptors Mary White and Vickie Sowell on installations inspired by early semiconductor devices. The tour concludes with remarks from Hyatt Centric General Manager, Mark Salquist on the hotel’s design and its connection to this iconic site. After the tour, stay for the main event, meet 300+ Silicon Valley investors, founders, and tech leaders, and connect with the Taiwan delegation showcasing advancements in biotech, AI, defense, and more.
