Glimpse into the Future with Even Realities
We're bringing G2 to AWE Long Beach for a workshop with the people who actually built it.
Even G2 is the first pair of consumer smart glasses with a 576×288 monochrome waveguide display, the Even R1 ring as a dedicated input device, and an open plugin platform (Even Hub) running on real hardware in the wild today.
This event is for the engineers, hardware folks, and platform-curious developers who want to go past the keynote slides and into the how — how the optics work, how the chip stack is designed, how the SDK exposes hardware to third-party plugins, and why we think glasses are the next computing platform.
Most of the evening is conversation with Tom (CTO) and Raag (DevRel). The last block is hands-on: write a small plugin on a real pair of Even G2 so you walk out having actually shipped something to a pair of glasses.
Speakers
Tom Ouyang - CTO, Even Realities Tom is the Co-founder and CTO of Even Realities, leading an R&D powerhouse of over 100 engineers to redefine the future of AI Smart Glasses. With a relentless focus on user-centric design and technical innovation, he drives the company's technology roadmap and oversees the end-to-end lifecycle from prototype to global mass production.
Agenda (~2 hours)
0–10 min — Welcome, hands-on with G2 + R1 (everyone wears a pair)
10–55 min — Tom keynote: Glasses Are the AI Hardware
The optics: monochrome waveguide, 576×288, the trade-offs we made
Hardware architecture: codec chip, BLE link, the R1 input model
Why glasses (not phones, not headsets) are the next computing platform
55–80 min — Raag: EvenHub Platform Deep Dive
SDK architecture and the Tri-Sync model (App → G2 → R1)
Plugin lifecycle, sandboxing, real-device deploy via
.ehpkLive coding: a plugin from
npm initto G2 in under 5 minutes
80–90 min — Break, form teams
90–115 min — Hands-on plugin build on real G2 hardware
115–130 min — Q&A with Tom, showcase, wrap
