Speaker Series: Nolan Bushnell, Founder of Atari
Nolan Bushnell is a technology pioneer and prolific entrepreneur, widely recognized as the "father of the video game industry", and the visionary founder behind Atari and Chuck E. Cheese's. Yet his legacy is far greater —that of an ecosystem architect. In 1981, he founded Catalyst Technologies, one of Silicon Valley's first technology incubators, a model that served as a precursor to the modern accelerator. Over a career that includes launching more than 20 companies, from digital navigation to adaptive learning, Bushnell has consistently embodied the relentless, founder-first spirit that defines the StartX Community.
Join us as we welcome Nolan for an intimate conversation on his lifelong journey of "inventing the future" and building the support systems that empower others to do the same. He will share his philosophies on identifying disruptive ideas, forming the right teams, and cultivating the creative culture that has shaped Silicon Valley. The conversation will examine the technology transformation currently underway in generative AI, and explore the parallels between today's opportunities and the technology transformations he's influenced in the past. This is a rare opportunity to learn from an innovator who didn’t just create iconic ventures, but helped build the very foundation of the entrepreneurial landscape we know today.
The conversation will be moderated by Andrew Radin, Head of AI at StartX. Andrew is a 5x entrepreneur and is focused on creating a center of thought leadership for AI entrepreneurship for the Stanford community at StartX. His 2nd startup experience was as VPE/CTO of Neoedge Networks, where he built an in-game advertising network reaching ~40M subscribers. Nolan Bushnell served as Chairman of the Board at Neoedge.
