About Event

Lisbon's newest brunch opening is full of Peruvian inspiration!

Introducing Pacha Brunch

The space is a joint project by three Peruvians: Javier Jiménez, Maria del Carmen's brother, Vanessa del Aguila, her best friend, and the entrepreneur herself, who moved to Lisbon 17 years ago to study business management. "I fell in love with Portugal and found myself in Lisbon. The only problem I encountered at the time was the lack of Peruvian restaurants and bars. In the meantime, with the gastronomic boom in Peru, that has changed and there are now several options, mainly focused on more elaborate meals."

However, she still lacked the space she had always dreamed of, a Peruvian restaurant. “In Peru, we have what we call traditional markets, where people go shopping, but also stop for breakfast, lunch, or a cocktail, something light,” she explains. Thus, the concept of Pacha Brunch was born.

With no experience in the restaurant business, she invited her brother and a friend to join her in the venture and called on chef Pedro Cáceres, a fellow student in Peru, to take charge of the kitchen. Together, they created a brunch menu inspired by Peruvian cuisine.

What to Expect:

・Welcome Cocktail (Mimosa)
・Toast/Sandwich
・Eggs/Pancakes/Bowls
・Freshly Squeezed Juice
・Coffee(Expresso, Americano, Freddo)/Infusions

Meet Your Host: Maria del Carmen Jiménez

Maria is a OneThousandClub alumni and she moved to Lisbon 17 years ago to study business management. "I ended up falling in love with Portugal and found myself in Lisbon.

She worked as an accountant at the Peruvian Embassy until 2014, when she decided to change direction after the birth of her daughter. The beginning was difficult: she started selling bikinis online and at fairs, then moved on to handicrafts, buying pieces in Caldas da Rainha and reselling them in markets in Lisbon. In 2021, she opened Portugal Artesanato and, the following year, Zula, a jewelry store, both on the same street.

Maria del Carmen had always dreamed of opening a Peruvian restaurant. “In Peru, we have what we call traditional markets, where people go shopping, but also stop for breakfast, lunch, or a cocktail, something light,” she explains. Thus, the concept of Pacha Brunch was born.
