​Come paint with us in the park!

​Paint in the Park is a collaborative painting afternoon presented by Read in the Park, bringing people together around a shared creative activity.

​🎨 How this event will go

​You can choose to paint collaboratively or work on your own piece.

​For collaborative painting, we'll split into small groups and everyone will start their own painting. After a set amount of time, you'll pass your painting to the next person, and they'll pick up where you left off — no discussing the original idea, just go off the vibes. We'll keep passing the paintings around until they make their way through the group. At the end, you'll take home a piece of art that was created by everyone in your group.

​Each group will have a volunteer guiding the activity and keeping track of when it's time to pass, so all you have to do is paint.

​Prefer to do your own thing? You're completely welcome to work on your own painting alongside us instead. We'll ask which option you'd prefer when you register.

​No painting experience needed.

​🎨 How the afternoon goes

​2:00–2:30 pm → Arrive, check in, and settle in
2:30–2:45 pm → Get into groups + painting intro
2:45–4:00 pm → Paint together
4:00–4:30 pm → Conversations + wrap up

​🎨 Your ticket includes

​This is a $12 ticketed event and we'll provide the painting materials you need:

​→ Canvas
→ Paint palette
→ Acrylic paints
→ Brushes and shared painting supplies

​We're keeping the event small with 20 attendee spots so we can prepare materials for everyone.

​🎟️ Registration + refunds

​One registration is for one person only. If you're bringing a friend, please have them register for their own spot.

​Because we're purchasing materials based on registrations, tickets become non-refundable 3 days before the event. Refund requests can be made up until that deadline.

​If your plans change after the refund deadline, please still update your RSVP so the hosts know you won't be attending.

​→ A blanket or something to sit on
→ Layers for San Francisco weather
→ Water or a snack
→ Clothes you don't mind potentially getting a little paint on

​🎨 A note on photos

​We may take a few photos and short clips for social. By attending you consent to being photographed but if you'd rather not be, just let us know when you arrive and we'll keep you out of frame.

​Paint in the Park is presented by Read in the Park, a Bay Area reading community that meets twice a month to read our own books together in the park. Every once in a while, we also try a new hobby together or go on a community side quest around the Bay Area.

​Come solo or bring a friend. Plenty of people show up by themselves.
