Webinar: Motherhood Journeys: Insights & Experiences of Nepali Professional Moms in Germany

A thoughtful space for learning, sharing, and supporting motherhood within the Nepali community in Germany.

Becoming a parent is one of life’s most meaningful transitions and when it happens far from home, the journey can feel even more complex. This webinar brings together Nepali parents living and working in Germany to openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and learnings as they navigate pregnancy, childbirth, and raising children in a multicultural environment.

Designed especially for aspiring parents and new working parents, this session focuses on sharing practical guidance, emotional support, and culturally familiar perspectives to make your parenthood journey more confident, informed, and connected.

What To Expect From This Webinar:

Panel discussion with four Nepali mothers in Germany

Panel list Speakers:

👩‍⚕️ Dr. Samjhana Thapa:
Dr. Samjhana Thapa completed her MBBS from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, and has worked at Kanti Children’s Hospital in Nepal. She has worked for three years at St. Barbara Krankenhaus in Schwandorf, Germany, as an Assistant Doctor/ MD student in the Internal Medicine and Cardiology department.

👩‍🔬 Laxmi Gupta:
Laxmi Gupta is a Study Nurse at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU), Germany. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is actively engaged in medical study coordination and patient support.

👩‍💼 Amrita Gautam:
Amrita Gautam is a Civil Engineer from the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Nepal, currently in the final phase of her doctoral research at the Technical University of Cologne. Her research focuses on Hydro-Informatics, particularly Water Supply Engineering and Management.
Her professional journey includes working with various United Nations (UN) organizations and research projects across Nepal, Germany, Mozambique, Brazil, Canada, and the USA.

👩‍💼 Barsha Prasai:
Barsha Prasai is a Life Coach and the creator of Everyday’s Inspiration, a blog dedicated to life coaching, personal growth, and mental well-being. Through her platform, she supports individuals in building resilience, confidence, and a more balanced life.

Previously, Barsha worked as a biologist with a strong background in Molecular Biology and Analytical Chemistry, gained through research roles at German universities. She also brings industry experience from her work at a genetic diagnostics company, where she curated mutation databases and interpreted NGS-based genetic variants following ACMG guidelines, using tools such as PUBMED, OMIM, and ClinVar for accurate classification.

👩‍💼 Yashoda Bhurtel (Moderator/Host):
Yashoda Bhurtel is a Research Scientist at CRELUX, a WuXi AppTec company. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and brings valuable scientific insight, communication skills, and community engagement experience.
