Seeds of Change: Responsible Energy Transition of Singapore
What does a “responsible energy transition” actually look like in practice — not just for Singapore, but for the region?
Across Southeast Asia, the shift toward cleaner energy is accelerating. But beyond the headlines — solar adoption, regional grids, new technologies — lie deeper questions:
What are we transitioning from, and towards?
Whose needs are being prioritised—and whose are left out?
Can a transition still be considered ‘green’ if its environmental and social impacts are displaced elsewhere?
What existing systems are we trying to sustain, and what might need to fundamentally change?
Energy transition is not simply about replacing one technology with another. It is a systems transition involving infrastructure, governance, consumption, economics, regional interdependence, and competing visions of the future.
It involves trade-offs between reliability, affordability and sustainability. And it requires navigating uncertainty about emerging technologies, policies and societal expectations.
Join us for a hands-on Three Horizons workshop—an interactive futures thinking experience that helps you make sense of how different visions of the future coexist, compete, and shape the pathways we take today.
