Johannesburg is one of Africa’s most dynamic cities – a place of innovation, opportunity and complexity. But like many fast-growing urban centres, it also faces real challenges around service delivery, infrastructure, mobility, employment and quality of life.

Through this new AI and data challenge, Zindi and Google are bringing together young African talent, universities, civic organisations, government stakeholders and private-sector partners to explore how data science can help solve real city-level problems.
