Co-working day at Tupu'anga Coffee
HackAotearoa is a free fortnightly co-working day for startup founders, indie hackers, and remote workers.
Between fortnightly Fridays, we want to keep our community's creative and connective momentum going, and what better way than discovering work-friendly cafes along the way! There's no set structure for these informal co-working days—you're welcome to use this time and space however you'd like. Hannah and Hanjun (from Work From Cafe) will be aiming to arrive around 10am, so come say Hi, and enjoy a few hours away from your usual desk!
This Friday we'll be co-working at Tupu'anga Coffee in Mt Eden.
A bit about the cafe:
Tupu means “to grow” and anga means “in character,” so Tupu‘anga roughly translates to “grow from your roots.”
Tupu‘anga Coffee is a Tongan cafe. The coffee beans are sourced locally from Tonga.
There are lots of Tongan delicacies, like keke (really bouncy bread) and ‘otai (a fruit drink with coconut milk).
Tupu‘anga is a community cafe, and part of a social enterprise (Affirming Works) supporting Pacific youth and their families.
What to know before you go:
The owner is happy for us to work from the cafe as long as each person makes one purchase every few hours.
Parking is easy enough to find. I usually park on Kingsview road, or Penrhyn road (opposite Kingsview).
Please remember to sign up so we can let the cafe know roughly how many people are coming.
We are not working in the main cafe, but the blue room towards the back of the cafe (past the bathroom, down the stairs, next to the courtyard)
