Pearl Harbor Bike Path Trail Cleanup Day
Join UXHI and Piʻikū on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00–10:30 AM for a community workday supporting the City and County of Honolulu to help care for the Pearl Harbor Bike Path Trail.
As part of the City’s yearly Pearl Harbor Bike Path Cleanup, UXHI will help mālama a site along Waipahu Depot Road / Kapakahi Stream, which feeds into Pouhala Marsh, a critical wetland habitat and home to threatened waterbirds and native Hawaiian plants and historic loʻi and fish ponds. Caring for this area helps protect downstream ecosystems and strengthens the resilience of our local environment.
The Pearl Harbor Bike Path is an important community resource, supporting biking, walking, and alternative transportation while connecting neighborhoods along the path—from Kapolei, Ewa, Waipahu, Pearl City and Aiea. Beyond physical health, the trail offers access to nature, shared public space, and opportunities for community stewardship.
We acknowledge the recent Kona Low storms and the communities affected across the island. This cleanup is one small way we can continue caring for the land and waterways, recognizing the interconnectedness of our island ecosystems.
