About Event

Indonesia is one of the fastest-growing digital economies in Southeast Asia, driven by high mobile penetration, rapid e-commerce adoption, and a young, highly connected population. In particular, social commerce, where buying and selling are integrated directly into social media platforms, has become a key driver of consumer behaviour and digital trade in the country.

Platforms such as short-form video apps, online marketplaces, and messaging-based commerce ecosystems are reshaping how brands interact with consumers, especially for SMEs and cross-border sellers seeking to expand into the Indonesian market. These channels offer significant opportunities for visibility, engagement, and sales growth, but they also introduce important challenges.

International businesses entering Indonesia’s digital consumer landscape must navigate issues such as platform dependency, building and maintaining consumer trust, regulatory compliance, intellectual property (IP) protection risks, and increasingly competitive digital environments.

To address these topics, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Indonesia Portugal (CCIIP) and the SEA IP SME Helpdesk will provide practical insights into Indonesia’s evolving digital consumer ecosystem, focusing on how international companies can effectively engage with social commerce opportunities while safeguarding their business and IP assets.
