About Event

The Engineer's Identity: The journey to being consequential

Most engineers get good at the work long before they figure out what kind of engineer they want to be. You can ship features, close tickets and pass reviews for years and still feel unsure whether any of it adds up to something. This session is about that gap.

We're bringing together three engineers who have worked through it at some of the most demanding engineering teams on the continent. They'll talk about how they came to see themselves differently, what changed in how they worked once they did, and the decisions that moved them from being capable to being consequential. There will be time for your questions, and time to meet other engineers asking the same ones.

Speakers

Aranwaolu Oyediran, Engineering Lead at Recess

Chibuike Dennis, Senior Software Engineer at Moniepoint

Anthony Truscott, Engineering Manager at Flutterwave

Who it's for

Software engineers who are past the beginner stage and thinking seriously about what comes next.
