About Event

Chardi Kala

Chardi Kala takes its name from the Punjabi spiritual principle of relentless resilience in the face of adversity. Through sound, spirit, and culture, the project connects people across diasporas.

Chardi Kala translates research on how sound frequencies shape emotional regulation into healing sound environments in communal spaces. The project debuted at ZAP Outdoorz Festival and is currently incubating at NEW INC at the New Museum.

This evening unfolds as a three-part journey, each chapter lasting 30 minutes:

I. Movement with Jay
Light guided movement, grounding breathwork, and lymphatic tapping to arrive in the body.

II. Live Electronic Set with Erin
An ambient, deep-listening session.

III. DJ Set with Eshie
Dub embedded with healing sound frequencies and speeches on global liberation.

Come as you are. Wear comfortable clothes.
