DataFusion Community Showcase Vol. 8: Cloudflare & Teradata Labs

​We're excited to present the eighth DataFusion Community Showcase!

​This virtual session will highlight two projects building on DataFusion:

​1) Sergio Esteves, Cloudflare Basin SQL

​"Building Basin SQL on Datafusion - Part II"

Basin SQL (formerly R2 SQL) is Cloudflare's distributed query engine for Iceberg tables on R2, built on Apache DataFusion. In Part II, we share the optimizations and extensions we built on top of DataFusion to plan better queries and run them reliably at scale.

2) Artur Borycki, Teradata Labs

​"Distributed DataFusion at Terabyte Scale"

​Get a first look at a distributed query engine built on Apache DataFusion Ballista and designed for AI agent workloads. We will walk through the optimizer improvements that deliver fast, predictable performance at terabyte scale, scale elastically as agent demand grows, and make efficient use of platform resources.
