Executive Roundtable @AWS re:Invent: Who owns AI in your engineering organisation?
A 2-hour, invite-only roundtable for engineering and platform leaders at AWS re:Invent, hosted by Platform Engineering and Latitude teams. Think of it as a therapy session for people building platforms: a small table, an open conversation, and peers dealing with the same questions.
Who owns AI?
Engineers are adopting AI tools faster than most organisations can set rules for them. Teams want access to models, compute and agents. Finance wants to know what it costs. Security wants to know who can do what.
In most companies nobody was hired to own all of it, so the work lands on platform and infrastructure teams by default.
Some organisations embed engineers directly with the product and data teams that need help.
Others build self-service paths so those teams can move without asking. Most are doing a mix and aren’t sure which is working.
Bring your experience
Who owns AI infrastructure and tooling in your organisation today?
Are you embedding engineers with the teams you support, or building shared paths and expecting teams to follow them?
How has AI changed what your platform or infrastructure team is asked to do?
Where is your AI workload running, and what’s driving that choice: cost, capacity, speed or control?
Which skills are you hiring for, and which are you growing from your existing team?
