UNM Art Museum Tour
Join University of New Mexico Art Museum (UNMAM) Director Arif Khan for a tour of Abundance: New Acquisitions from 2016 to 2026, which features works recently acquired by the museum. Ranging from paintings, prints, photographs, and sculpture, the exhibit comprises 44 artists from nine countries, highlighting the breadth of the UNMAM collection. Director Khan will discuss the curatorial vision of the museum over the past decade, which has focused on acquiring works made by women, LGBTQ+ artists, and artists of color. Participants will additionally tour the exhibit, TAMARIND GOES GLOBAL (1985–2020), which highlights printmaking works created in the world-renowned lithography center based in Albuquerque. The exhibit examines how Tamarind Institute transformed from a national workshop into a globally connected center for contemporary printmaking. The exhibition draws from UNMAM’s Tamarind Archive Collection and includes materials from UNM’s Center for Southwest Research (CSWR).
