About Event

Join us for a free, open-to-the-public virtual event covering the basic science of climate change and its impacts, with an extended Q&A with working climate scientists from Harvard University, Cornell University, and UCSD / Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

About us: Climate Up Close is a group of climate scientists committed to making the essentials of climate science accessible to a broad audience. We equip Americans to reach their own judgments about climate science by seeing the evidence for themselves and putting their questions directly to climate scientists.

Our events: Events feature a 45-minute presentation that covers what scientists know about climate change, explores the boundary of current knowledge, details how climate change affects extreme weather, and frames what the future may hold. The presentation is followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

How we work: Climate Up Close is non-partisan and non-prescriptive. Our scientists donate their time, our events are free and open to the public, and our tours are supported by small donations. We recently completed a Fall 2026 tour of North Carolina. Learn more here >> https://www.climateupclose.org/2026-north-carolina-tour
