Drop-In A Cappella (+ Lunch) Sep 2025 @ Cornerstone

​Whether you’re a beginner singer who’s curious or a seasoned a cappella singer, drop into our event to meet other music folks in the Bay + learn and sing an a cappella arrangement! Plus, an option to come early for lunch, catered by Lazy Susan Chinese.

​This session is hosted in partnership with Cornerstone Evangelical Baptist Church near Portola. Our connection was made through Joshua Chen (music director, singer, and community leader), who graciously offered their beautiful space for us to gather (see notes at the bottom for more context).

​Joshua and Robert will be co-leading this drop-in. We'll be singing The Hymn of Acxiom by Vienna Teng (arranged by Robert) - a haunting and dramatic contemporary choral piece which will really soar in the space!

​All levels welcome! A couple listen throughs of the learning tracks will go a long way, but no preparation necessary. Sheet music PDF provided - please bring a device to view it, or print your own copy.

​While the venue is affiliated with a church, this is not a religious event. Joshua and I spoke at length, and he affirmed that this space is being shared in the spirit of community and music-making only. This event is open to everyone, regardless of background, gender identity, sexual orientation, faith (or no faith at all), or ability to pay. Our shared focus is on singing, connecting, and building community through music.
