AI Across Borders: Austin × Medellín
A one-night, English-language meetup for AI-curious professionals, entrepreneurs, digital nomads, expats, and English-speaking Colombians.
No coding experience is required. Attendance is free, but seating is limited.
Hosted by Steve Ward, organizer of the North Austin AI Meetup from May 2025 through March 2026 and a graduate of the UT Austin Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
WHO IS THIS MEETUP FOR?
Anyone interested in the practical, real-world impact of artificial intelligence—including professionals, entrepreneurs, remote workers, technology enthusiasts, and curious beginners.
You do not need to be a programmer or AI expert. Bring your questions, experiences, ideas, or a problem you would like to explore.
WHY THIS MEETUP?
AI is changing quickly, and it is easier to understand when we learn from one another.

AGENDA
6:30–6:50 p.m. — Arrival and introductions
Meet other attendees and briefly share how you currently use—or want to use—AI.
6:50–7:10 p.m. — AI in Austin and Medellín
A short introduction, lessons from the North Austin AI Meetup, and thoughts on building an AI community across cities.
7:10–7:40 p.m. — Practical AI examples
A discussion of useful AI applications for business, productivity, research, marketing, and everyday work.
7:40–8:10 p.m. — Show, Share & Problem Exchange
Bring an AI tool, project, question, workflow, or business problem to share with the group.
8:10–8:30 p.m. — Open discussion and networking
Continue the conversation and make new local and international connections.
The event will be conversational and accessible—not a technical lecture.
The discussion will be held primarily in English. Local Colombians with conversational English are warmly encouraged to attend.
