ABOUT

(Un)Told: Immigrant Voices of Resilience is a community-based book project created by Yasemin that works to carve a small collective space for immigrants to share stories of resilience through poetry, prose, and art. This project honours the voices and stories of immigrants across Canada. From Australia to Afghanistan, Palestine, Nigeria, Mexico, and more. The Submissions of thirty-six unique Contributors are brought together through shared resilience in this colourful and rich mosaic that is the anthology.

The book launch is produced in collaboration with The 525 Art Pop-Ups, a nonprofit arts organization rooted in Treaty 6 Territory and active across Canadian cities. The 525's Community Collaborations model is built to support exactly this kind of work — amplifying community-led cultural projects by offering organizational infrastructure, production capacity, and curatorial partnership. (Un)Told is a natural home for that model: a project that belongs fully to its contributors, supported by a team committed to making space for it.

The book is supported by the Canadian Red Cross and Government of Canada. The event is supported by Weston Frontlines Centre.
