​Guest Speaker: BJ Stewart, Executive Director, Sunshine Enterprises

​B.J. brings over twenty-five years of executive leadership and business experience and has served as Executive Director of Sunshine Enterprises since May 2022. Sunshine Enterprises is a leading business support organization serving under-resourced communities across Chicago.

​Prior to joining Sunshine Enterprises, B.J. served for seven years as Chief Operations Officer at Urban Impact in Seattle, where he also led the organization’s economic development efforts to support under-resourced entrepreneurs and small businesses.

​Prior to his roles in nonprofit leadership, he was a ten-year Arby’s Restaurant franchisee and owned a staffing agency.  B.J. also spent over a decade as a consultant and certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers [and other corporations]. He earned his MBA from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University.
