Nature Along the Highway: Integrating Ecosystems and Road Corridors for Climate Resiliency

​Join the Global Green-Gray Community of Practice for a knowledge-sharing session on how road infrastructure can be planned, designed, and maintained in closer relationship with the ecosystems around it.

​Roads interact with water flows, coastal dynamics, soils, vegetation, communities, and long-term climate risks. This session will explore how green-gray infrastructure approaches can help strengthen climate resilience in road corridors by integrating ecological, engineering, restoration, and policy considerations.

​Drawing on practical experiences from Conservation International's teams in Guyana, Mexico, and Brazil, the session will discuss lessons, challenges, and opportunities for scaling green-gray approaches in road and transport systems.

​This event is open to practitioners, policymakers, engineers, researchers, project managers, and partner organizations working at the intersection of infrastructure, ecosystem-based adaptation, nature-based solutions, coastal resilience, and climate risk reduction.
