KOTA X Ekatra: How we Make Impact Through Every Cup
Ekatra x Kota: A Chai Sharing Circle
An afternoon of stories, craft, and connection
Rooted in the Indian tradition of gathering over chai, Ekatra x Kota: A Chai Sharing Circle invites guests into a warm, intimate afternoon where conversations slow down and strangers become familiar.
Guests are welcomed into the cozy space at Kota with a cup of artisanal chai served in artisanal cups, accompanied by homemade snacks lovingly prepared by the Ekatra women — think crisp mathri and bite-sized laddoos, offering a small taste of the homes and hands behind the work.
As everyone settles in, the afternoon unfolds through a relaxed storytelling circle. Rather than a formal presentation, the gathering becomes a shared exchange of stories, resilience, and connection. Through Ekatra, guests are introduced to the women behind the craft, where KOTA cafe’s 2% contribution goes— who they are, what they have built, and how the partnership with Kota has created meaningful impact back home in India. Guests are then invited to reflect and share stories of strength, community, and belonging from their own lives.
In one corner of the café, a hands-on block printing station offers a quiet creative moment. Using traditional wooden blocks brought from India, guests can print onto seed cards or fabric pieces, experiencing a craft deeply rooted in Indian artisanal traditions.
As the gathering comes to a close, each guest receives a small handmade keepsake created by the Ekatra women — a stitched, sewn, or thoughtfully crafted token that carries the shared spirit of Kota and Ekatra into homes across Amsterdam.
