VELOCITY Nr.2: Vienna AI Scene Networking Event. AI & Law

VELOCITY Returns. January 16th.

VELOCITY is Vienna's AI builder meetup—high signal, low noise. We bring together engineers, founders, researchers, and investors who are actually shipping.

After 60 people showed up to our first event in December—and multiple people told us "this is the most SF-like place in Austria"—we knew we couldn't stop at one.

VELOCITY #2 📅 Friday, January 16th | 6:00 PM

The Talk: Marius Rusu (AI Engineer) & Christian Kaindl (CTO & Co-founder) from Codara on building Austria's first Large Language Model for the legal domain.

From pre-training on 1.7 billion tokens of Austrian legal data to fine-tuning and deployment—real technical insights from a team shipping AI in regulated industries. They're building this in collaboration with Cerha Hempel, Fraunhofer Austria, and Sigmund Freud University as part of a funded research project.

If you've ever wondered what it actually takes to build domain-specific LLMs in Europe—where "move fast and break things" isn't an option—this is the talk.

The Vibe: Same format as last time. Talk, then open networking. Food, drinks, and conversations that turn into collaborations.
