About Event

The Art of Expression

The Art of Expression is a free, guided evening, where we’ll explore playfulness, connecting with yourself and others, and getting out of your head and into your body.

We’ll work physically and playfully with the body, creating a space where everyone is welcome, regardless of their theatre experience or physical abilities.

Through a series of movement exercises, we’ll explore and develop body awareness, while also focusing on connection and communication with others. Some exercises will be done together as a group, while others will be explored in pairs.

Move, play, connect, and discover what happens when you give yourself permission to step out of your head and into your body.

You do not need any experience.
You do not need to consider yourself expressive or confident.
And you do not need to worry about coming alone.

The evening will be carefully guided, with enough structure to make trying something new feel approachable and enough playfulness for unexpected moments of connection to happen.

Come curious, come as you are, and perhaps leave a little more comfortable taking up space, expressing yourself, and connecting in ways you had not tried before.

The event is completely free, but places are limited to keep the experience small and interactive.

Free to join • 15–25 participants • In English

This workshop is designed for young adults up to 35.

This workshop will be hosted by Danilo Nisi:

I’m Danilo, 28 years old, and based in Amsterdam. I work as a theatre maker, actor, and teacher, with a strong focus on physical- and improvisation theatre.

Both in and outside of my work, I get a lot of energy from two things: people and movement. I’m curious about how people relate to one another, how connection comes about, and what happens when we communicate through the body. For me, movement is a way to explore, play and connect with ourself and others.

I’m looking forward to see you there!
