pLEO Tech Spotlight

As proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) constellations continue to scale, the challenge is shifting from deploying satellites to operating them efficiently at constellation scale.

This NASA SBIR Ignite Tech Spotlight brings together founders, investors, NASA subject matter experts, and members of the broader space ecosystem for a technical discussion on the engineering and operational tradeoffs shaping the next generation of pLEO architectures.

Discussion Question

As pLEO architectures scale, does reducing operational friction depend more on expanding on-orbit processing capacity, accelerating downlink throughput, or fundamentally re-engineering the ground segment infrastructure connecting orbital assets to terrestrial end-users?

Rather than product pitches, this session is designed as a moderated technical conversation exploring:

  • On-orbit processing and edge compute

  • Ground segment architecture and automation

  • Communications and network orchestration

  • Autonomous constellation operations

  • Government demand signals and commercialization pathways

Date: August 19, 2026
