The Hero's Journey: Finding Your Coaching AI Fellowship
Developing your practice with AI should not be a solitary quest. Every coach navigates their own ethics on their personal Hero's Journey through the landscape of AI, yet you do not need to travel alone. This interactive session helps you recognise your call to action in an AI influenced world. You will map how applied ethics around AI use provides Support, Challenge, and Reflection in your practice. The session also connects you with matched companions who could go on a quest of complementary professional development with you.
What happens:
1) Introduction (5 mins) Why take part today?
2) A Little History (5 mins): Joseph Campbell's storytelling concept of mythical stories and the Hero's Journey.
3) Solo reflection (10 mins): Complete a short 12-question survey, rating your instinctive responses across three dimensions of using AI in professional practice.
4) Reveal your AI Ethics Hero archetype (10mins):
> Which of 13 Fellowship profiles you embody right now?
> Who are your best complementary companions? No right answers, just an honest baseline.
> Display Charts showing proportions of companion archetypes in the group.
> Use Share/Copy buttons on survey page to share Hero profile on Social Media and Copy and Paste results into Session Chat!.
5) Facilitated breakouts (15 mins):
>Join a small fellowship of AI Ethics companions with Supportive, Challenging and Reflective traits.
>Explore a live AI coaching topic:
-A current challenge AI could help with.
-A challenge that should be helped through a human coach.
>Explore through the lens of the different archetypes in the room.
6) Group harvest (10 mins) : Share one insight and one edge you want to develop.

Jazz Rasool is the European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s (EMCC) Global Research Lead. He is a scientist, executive coach, and AI policy adviser. He built one of the first AI coaching platforms in 2008, drawing on visualisation technology based on wisdom traditions from Africa, India, and China that Western coaching models had overlooked. He serves on the Skills and Diversity Council of TechUK, the trade body for UK Technology businesses, advising UK government ministers on Skills, Inclusion as well as AI Literacy and Deployment policy. He has co-authored research on ethical frameworks for the metaverse and the challenges of consent in decentralised digital environments and AI applications. Jazz has worked with NASA to design AI and VR based training and coaching to improve performance of Astronauts due to go on future Space Station and Manned Mars missions. In June 2026 he took part in UK-US AI Trade delegation talks in Washington DC at the White House, sharing how coaching could contribute to development of leaders who would serve society and the economy. He is currently collaborating on building a global coaching research and development alliance to foster large scale research projects for procuring coaching at scale in society and industry. He is based in Watford in the United Kingdom.
